The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee has made a new decision regarding the deadline for the HSC and equivalent exams result re-scrutiny or khata challenge application. According to this new decision, students will be able to apply for result re-scrutiny until 12:00 PM on Sunday (November 8). This decision to extend the time was taken considering the students who could not apply within the stipulated time due to online technical glitches.

At around 10:00 PM on Saturday (November 7), the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee announced this decision through an urgent notification. The notification was signed by Professor Jesmin Taslima Banu, the current convener of the committee and the Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Board.

Details of the Notification

The urgent notification stated that all examinees, guardians, heads of institutions, and concerned parties of the HSC and equivalent exams 2026 are informed that due to technical (online) errors, the application process for re-scrutiny and re-evaluation of answer scripts was severely disrupted from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday (November 7). As a result, many examinees failed to complete their applications within the scheduled time. Taking this issue into serious consideration, the decision has been made to extend the application period.

The notification further informed that the final deadline for re-scrutiny and re-evaluation applications has been rescheduled from 12:00 AM on November 7 to 12:00 PM on November 8. This decision has been implemented by the order of the higher authorities.

Application Statistics

It is to be noted that the application process for this year's HSC khata challenge or result re-scrutiny officially started on November 1 and was supposed to end at 8:00 PM on Saturday (November 7).

According to the education board's data, a total of 278,882 students have applied for result re-scrutiny so far. Since many students have submitted applications for the re-scrutiny and re-evaluation of multiple subjects and papers, the total number of applications has reached 1,037,717.
