Advertise with The Mirror Bangla

Put your message in front of the readers The Mirror Bangla's front page opens for every day. Right beside the lead story, between the category blocks or down the right-hand column — choose from twenty-eight slots in all.

On the map below, the green boxes are the advertising slots, and each one carries its name and its size.

Why The Mirror Bangla

Across the country

Eight divisions, sixty-four districts and every thana below them — our readers are wherever the news comes from.

Readers abroad

Bangla readers living outside the country see the same page, on the same day.

Mobile first

Our pages are laid out for the small screen first, so a banner reaches readers there first too.

In every section

From politics to sport, entertainment to video — in the very section whose readers you want to reach.

Where the ads go

The picture is the whole front page, from top to bottom. The grey boxes are news — photos, headlines, lists — and the green boxes are the advertising slots. Each green box carries that slot's name and its size in pixels.

The slots fall into four families by size. Choose the one that suits you from the list below; the full list follows it.

  • Billboard — 970 × 90

Five slots, across the full width of the page.

  • Leaderboard — 728 × 90

Five slots, between the category blocks.

  • Sidebar — 300 × 250

Eleven slots, down the right-hand column.

  • In the content

Seven slots, among the news cards themselves.

Every advertising slot

Booking and terms

File type and size

Banners may be sent as JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF.

  • A file may be at most 150 kilobytes.
  • The size must be exactly the pixels given above; a smaller or larger file stretched to fit looks blurred.
  • A still image works best. An animation must not loop more than three times.
  • HTML5 and third-party tags are not accepted for now.

What to send

Everything in one email gets it done fastest:

  • The banner files, one for each slot.
  • The slot's name — for example Home Leaderboard 2 — as it is written on this page.
  • The full link a reader goes to when they click.
  • The date it starts and how many days it runs.
  • The organisation's name, and one person's name and number, for the bill and for contact.

Booking and deadlines

A slot booked first is given first.

  • With the files and link in hand at least three working days before the campaign starts, the banner goes up on the day booked.
  • To change a banner during a campaign, send the new file; it is changed the next day.
  • A booking must be cancelled before its start date.

Advertisements we do not accept

To protect our editorial independence and our readers' trust, some advertisements are turned away:

  • Anything in conflict with the laws of the country.
  • False or exaggerated claims, particularly about health or financial returns.
  • Anything demeaning about religion, ethnicity, gender or occupation.
  • Advertisements dressed up as news, which a reader could mistake for a report.

The decision to turn an advertisement away is the editorial desk's, and any money paid in advance is then refunded.

Rates and payment

Rates depend on the slot and how long it runs, so the full rate card is sent on request.

  • Write to the address below for the rate card; a reply usually goes out the same working day.
  • A package rate applies to a long run or several slots taken together.
  • Billing and payment terms are confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
