More than 30 people have been killed or injured in airstrikes targeting a market in the Al-Waziyah area of Yemen’s Taiz province, according to Houthi-controlled television channel Al-Masirah.
Citing its correspondent in Taiz, the channel reported that the strikes took place on Friday morning (November 6). The casualty figure was initially estimated at more than 30, while search operations were underway to recover the bodies of people still missing.
Al-Masirah also reported that aircraft continued flying over the area following the attacks, raising concerns about further strikes.
According to the channel, the crowded market was hit in three separate airstrikes. However, the exact number of people killed and injured has not yet been independently confirmed.
Meanwhile, Al-Masirah reported further intense airstrikes in the Hamdan area of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. The attacks reportedly damaged two deep-water wells, although no further details about casualties or the extent of the damage were immediately available.
The channel also reported airstrikes in the Majz district of Saada province.
In addition, Al-Masirah claimed that artillery and rocket attacks were carried out in areas near the Saudi Arabian border, including the Saada region and several other districts.
The latest reports indicate that multiple areas across Yemen were targeted in the attacks on Friday. However, details about the aircraft involved, the parties responsible for the strikes and the overall extent of the damage remain unclear.
The reported attacks come amid continuing tensions and violence in Yemen, where military operations have repeatedly affected civilian areas and critical infrastructure.
Note: The casualty figures and details of the attacks are based on reports by Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah television and have not been independently verified.
